We Believe: Freedom of Religion

"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may." (Articles of Faith 1:11)

The freedom for mankind to follow one of its deepest felt instincts to worship God is essential to true freedom.  Without this freedom to worship, or not to worship, our very freedom of conscience is limited.
Oppression by or against any person on account of their personal beliefs is un-Christlike and does not have a proper place in a free society.  Rather, tolerance should be embraced and celebrated.  Understanding and civility should be the ruling passions in our diverse society.
