Q and A

So, here is your venue to ask questions.  Whether you are just curious or sincerely seeking answers, ask.  I'll post some Frequently Asked Questions, as well as questions that I have been asked as I've proselyted in the Western New York region.  But the best use of this space will be if you ask the questions.  That way you can find out what you want to know.

I look forward to your questions.

Are "Mormons" Christian?

Yes, we are.  "We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ..." (2 Nephi 25:26)
All of our teachings, all of our scripture, all of the words of our prophets and apostles point to Christ as "the author and finisher of our faith." (Hebrews 12:2)  He is "the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6)
We love Him and honour Him for His atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Do "Mormons" believe in the Holy Bible?

   Yes! We do!
As Christians, we regard the Bible as Scripture because it contains the words of prophets who testified of Christ and who taught the gospel of Christ.  The Bible also contains a record of Christ's life and ministry among men.  In this way the Bible is indispensable.

Do we worship Joseph Smith?

No. God alone is the focus of our worship.  That is one of His commandments.
We do have great love and respect for Joseph Smith the Prophet.  We are thankful for his faithfulness in restoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Through him God has restored His priesthood power and authority.  He has revealed His great Plan of Happiness through the prophet.
